Process

Task 1:

Using the information you just read, regarding your particular role, individually write a letter to the local council representative, Mr Robert King.
You are to describe why your particular character believes that the forest should/should not be cleared for the wood products and the new development.

Make sure to include the social, enviromental, and economic positives and/or negatives for your argument. The letter should be approximentally 500 words in length.

The letter should be addressed to:

Mr Robert King

Council Representative of Nakka Nakka
78 Yellow Court, Nakka Nakka, 1743, QLD, Australia.

Reminder: ‍
Social: Factors affecting society; population levels, general health and well being, infrastructure, history of Nakka Nakka including indigenouss people.
Enviromental: Factors affecting the enviroment, mainly flora and fauna.
Economic: Factors affecting economy; income, governments on a local, state and national level.

 Task 2:

Mr Robert King would like to thank you for your opinions regarding the logging of the Nakka Nakka Rainforest. The Local Council has now asked the four of you to collaborate your arguments and offer a presentation at the next Council meeting.

Once all four group members have completed and submitted your letters, come together as a group and discuss the individual arguments of the traditional owners, enviromental scientists, town local and business owner. It is essential to listen to your peers and it is suggested that you take notes during notes during this group collaboration. Pay particular attention to the social, economic and environmental costs and/or benefits your group members have to offer.

Once your group has collaborated all of the individual opinions and arguments create a 3-5 minute oral presentation where all viewpoints are expressed. The social, economic and environmental costs and/or benefits of each perspective should be highlighted and a conclusion should be made regarding a plausible solution that considers all options and encourages the best possible outcomes for all involved parties. As a group you may decide that one member's argument provides a solution that can meet everybody's needs or a combination of all opinions is a better option to consider.

To support your arguments, you are to use Photo Story to provide a visual representation that will enhance the overall quality and effect of your presentation.

The criteria you will be assessed on can be found here.
